About Me

Amanda Maryam

I love babies and I love mothers.  A Mother’s Mind is mighty and at times a Mother's Mind is fragile as the process of pregnancy, birth and motherhood can be overwhelming.

Holding a baby in her womb, birthing that baby and becoming a mother is an amazing job and I aim to ensure mum, baby and family enjoy this sacred time.

Let me tell you a little about what I do. I provide support to mothers who are expecting or who have just had their baby.  My role is to be on hand for mum, emotionally, mentally and physically during pregnancy, birth and motherhood. I am also on hand to assist fathers and family members with information, education and guidance which in turn helps mum and baby.

I trained with Abuela Doulas and I am a trainee Birth Educator with Red Tent Doulas.

What is a doula?

If you are on this page you may already know what a doula is but for those who are not quite sure, let me give you a quick overview. A doula is a person who gives support to mum through bump, birth and beyond. We are not medically trained and you will still have  your health professional team on hand wherever you choose to birth your baby.
